Update Regarding WPtouch and WordPress 6.4

Hi WPtouch Community,

We wanted to provide you with a quick update on the compatibility issues with WordPress 6.4.

After more research, this issue, which causes the css stylesheet to not render/not be found, is something that is effecting a number of plugins across the WordPress ecosystem. The core WordPress team has flagged this, and have developed a patch that will likely be released in the next version of WordPress. We’ve verified this on the core WordPress github repository, and can see this bug has been flagged, patched, and reviewed – so we are just waiting now for the next version to be released (we unfortunately don’t have a timeline on this, but we’d assume it should be out relatively quickly).

In the interim, if you’re still on version 6.4 or 6.4.1, and do not want to wait, a core WordPress developer has released a temporary fix, which can be installed as a plugin. Once installed, the issues noted with the stylesheets should remedy themselves. We have tested this on our side, and can confirm that using this temporary fix works, and is safe. You can access the temporary fix here (click “download as zip”, save the file, and upload to your WP Dashboard within the Add New Plugin section). Once activated, WPtouch should work correctly.

When the next version of WP is released, you can remove this plugin, as this code will be in the core WordPress files. Please note, if you are still on WP version 6.3, this fix will not apply, as this issue does not relate to version 6.3. If on v6.3, we’d recommend waiting until the next version of WordPress is released.

We’d like to thank you for your patience here – we know situations like this can be frustrating and inconvenient for you. We are close to having a full solution, and fingers crossed, it will be released soon by the core WordPress team.

Thank you for remaining a loyal WPtouch customer!

Important Update for All WPtouch Users Regarding WordPress 6.4

Hello WPtouch Community:

We want to bring to your attention a crucial matter concerning the latest WordPress update. With the recent release of WordPress 6.4, our team has identified compatibility issues that are affecting the performance of WPtouch. We have noticed that websites using WPtouch alongside WordPress 6.4 are not functioning as intended.

Our developers are diligently working to examine these incompatibilities and ensure that WPtouch retains its reliable and user-friendly experience. We are committed to releasing an update to WPtouch that will address and rectify these issues as soon as possible.

For the time being, we strongly advise all our users to hold off on updating to WordPress 6.4. Please continue to use WordPress 6.3 to maintain the integrity and usability of your website with WPtouch.

For those who have already updated, we recommend reverting back to WordPress 6.3 to prevent any further impact on your website’s performance. You can use this either of these plugins to do so: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-downgrade/. Before doing so, we recommend performing a backup of your website and a backup of your WPtouch settings (this can be done within the License & Support menu within WPtouch Pro).

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and want to extend our sincerest apologies. Rest assured, we are here to support you through this process and are eager to bring you a solution swiftly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay tuned for further updates, and do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support for assistance.
